City of
Los Angeles Research Report
No. 23633

About City of
Los Angeles Research Report No. 23633
The City of
Los Angeles
has its own building code. The 2008
City of
Los Angeles Building Code
is based on the 2007
California
Building
Code (CBC) and the 2006
International
Building
Code (IBC). The Los Angeles
Department of Building and Safety issues "research reports" which,
after review, approve building materials for use in
Los Angeles
. ISANTA sponsors such a report, Report No. 23633, "Pneumatic or
Mechanically Driven Nails and Staples," for products made by its members.
Unlike ICC-ES evaluation reports which "recognize" products and pave
the way for a building official in a town to approve products for a particular
building based on the report, the
Los Angeles
report does approve products for use in
Los Angeles
as described in the report.
The last 2-year renewal was July 1, 2007.
The report is due for renewal.
The report can be viewed, printed and downloaded as an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)
file from the City of Los Angeles’ web site. Click COLA - City of Los Angeles

in .pdf format.
